IAEA Conference Art Doll Presentation

My fellow Art Educator friend, Gina Szulkowski who teaches at Steinmetz College Prep HS, and I presented an Art Doll Workshop at the annual IAEA conference in November.
Art Dolls was one of the new projects I introduced to my classes last year.
I was happily surprised by how much the kids enjoyed learning to sew and making their doll.
I knew this was a lesson I had to share, and as the Surface Design Association IL Rep
I feel it is my duty to share fiber arts related lesson material.
When I was in the 6th grade I had a sewing class, of course I loved it.
Kids do not have these sort of classes anymore, which is a shame.
I believe sewing is a valuable life skill to have.
We had a full house and the teachers really got into their work.
Everyone worked the whole time up until the end of the workshop.
We made sure to bring lots of materials and embellishment options.
Here are some of the finished pieces

Email me if you want lesson materials
